You Can Do Anything

Figure out for yourself, my lad,
You've all that the greatest of men have had;
Two arms, two hands, two legs, two eyes,
And a brain to use if you would be wise.
With this equipment they all began.
So start from the top and say, "I can."

Look them over, the wise and the great;
They take their food from a common plate,
And similar knives and works they use,
With similar laces they tie their shoes.
The world considers them brave and smart,
But you've all they had when they made their start.

You can triumph and come to skill;
You can be great if you only will.
You're well equipped for what fight you choose;
You have arms and legs and a brain to use,
And the man who has risen great deed to do
Began his life with no more than you.

You are the handicap you must face;
You are the one who must choose your place.
You must say where you want to go.
How much you will study the truth to know;
God has equipped you for life, but He
Lets you decide what you want to be.

Courage must come from the soul within,
The man must furnish the will to win.
So figure it out for yourself, my lad.
You were born with all that the great have had.
With your equipment they all began.

Just a little rant : )~

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Robert Frost may have but most of us did not.

I believe it was at this time we as a species arrived at the 2 paths in the woods and we took the easiest. Everything became about the material. Make it faster, bigger, easier. And for what? Well, so we have more time. But how do we really use that time? We work.

It’s the famous shell game and we all fell for it, myself included. My husband has an excellent job with excellent pay and overtime. I have two part-time jobs. All those things that made our life bigger, faster and easier cost money. And at first it seems simple enough and I’ll have more time to be with the ones I love and do the things I want to do. NO. Most families have two working parents and we raise a nation of orphans.

“They” control us with fear. You must know your credit score. You must have good credit. But even if you don’t someone will still sell you a car or advance you your paycheck….for a fee. The Fat Cats keep getting fatter from the sweat and blood of the middle class. Do they care if they eliminate us? Of course not. “They” will create a nation of haves and have-nots and continue to control us with fear.

Only by getting past the material can we begin to change the game in our favor.
